What the Joint Juice settlements resolve
Joint Juice is a line of glucosamine drinks, shots, and powders made by Premier Nutrition. The lawsuits claim Premier Nutrition falsely advertised the joint health benefits of Joint Juice. They were filed state by state over more than a decade and settled in 2025 in two groups:
- Multi-state: Bland v. Premier Nutrition Corporation, Case No. RG19002714, with the related Sonner case, in the Superior Court of California, County of Alameda, before Judge Michael Markman.
- New York: Montera v. Premier Nutrition Corporation, Case No. 3:16-cv-06980 RS, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.
The New York case is unusual because it went to trial. According to the final approval order, Montera was tried to a jury, which returned a verdict for the plaintiff, and judgment was entered against Premier Nutrition for $8,312,450 plus interest. Both sides appealed, and the settlement resolved those appeals. Premier Nutrition denies it did anything wrong, and the multi-state cases were settled without any court ruling on the advertising claims. This is a false advertising refund case, not a personal injury case.
Who is eligible for the Joint Juice settlement?
You are a class member if you bought any Joint Juice product for personal or household use in one of these places and periods:
| State | Purchase period |
|---|---|
| New York | Dec. 5, 2013 to Dec. 28, 2021 |
| California | Mar. 1, 2009 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Connecticut | Nov. 18, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Florida | Nov. 18, 2012 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Illinois | Nov. 21, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Maryland | Dec. 12, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Massachusetts | Jan. 1, 2013 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Michigan | Dec. 12, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
| Pennsylvania | Nov. 18, 2010 to Dec. 31, 2022 |
What matters is where you bought Joint Juice, not where you live now. Purchases in any other state are not covered. Class members fall into two groups: Direct Payment Class Members, identified from retailer records and notified by email or postcard, and Claim-In Class Members, who had to file a claim form to be paid.
How much does the Joint Juice settlement pay per unit?
| Settlement | Products | Estimate |
|---|---|---|
| New York | Any unit | About $50 |
| Multi-state | 6-pack bottles, Drops, Extra Strength 6-pack, On The Go 7-pack | About $10 |
| Multi-state | 30-pack bottles, Easy Shot, Extra Strength Easy Shot, Extra Strength 24-pack, On The Go 30-pack | About $25 |
Claimants could be paid for up to six units without receipts. For more than six, proof such as receipts, order confirmations, or retailer account history was required for each extra unit. All estimates can move up or down depending on how many claims were filed.
Fees come out of the funds first. In the multi-state case the court awarded $23,377,138.46 in attorneys' fees (33% of the fund), $782,417.94 in expenses, and $10,000 service awards to class representatives. In New York the court awarded $8,713,326 in fees and $1,278,901.92 in expenses, largely amounts earlier awarded after trial and appeal. Leftover money goes to the Rheumatology Research Foundation as a cy pres recipient, not back to Premier Nutrition. See how settlement money is divided.
How Joint Juice claims were filed and paid
Claim-In Class Members filed online at the official settlement website or mailed a paper form postmarked by May 18, 2026. That deadline has passed. Direct Payment Class Members did not need to file; they could file only to add purchases missing from retailer records.
- Keep any claim confirmation number.
- Watch your email for payment messages from JND Legal Administration, the settlement administrator.
- Contact JND at 1-888-921-0720 or info@JointJuiceSettlement.com if your address or email changes.
Under both notices, payments are sent only after final approval and after any appeals are resolved. The settlement website had not posted a payment date on its pages as of late September 2026. Our guide on what to do if a settlement payment has not arrived covers follow-up steps.
Key dates for the Joint Juice settlements
| Event | Multi-state | New York |
|---|---|---|
| Opt-out and objection deadline | April 6, 2026 | April 6, 2026 |
| Final approval hearing | May 5, 2026 | May 14, 2026 |
| Final approval granted | May 26, 2026 | May 14, 2026 |
| Claim deadline | May 18, 2026 | May 18, 2026 |
As of September 2026, both settlements have final approval and the claim period is closed; payments depend on the end of any appeals and on claim review. The multi-state order requires 10% of the fee award to be held back until distribution is complete, a common way courts tie lawyer pay to class payments.
If you missed the Joint Juice deadline
If you were a Claim-In Class Member and did not file by May 18, 2026, you will not receive a payment, and unless you opted out by April 6, 2026 you have released your claims against Premier Nutrition. If you got a Direct Payment notice, you will still receive your automatic award.
If you bought Joint Juice only in a state not listed above, neither settlement covers you. For how to tell whether a settlement applies to you, see how to know if you qualify, and for why receipts matter, see proof of purchase rules.
Joint Juice false advertising settlement: common questions.
Is the Joint Juice settlement legit?
Yes. The two settlements were approved by the Alameda County Superior Court (Bland v. Premier Nutrition Corporation) and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California (Montera v. Premier Nutrition Corporation). The official website, JointJuiceSettlement.com, is run by JND Legal Administration.
How much will I get from the Joint Juice settlement?
The estimate is about $50 per unit for New York purchases and $10 or $25 per unit for purchases in the eight multi-state settlement states, depending on the product. Claims without receipts were limited to six units, and final amounts depend on how many claims were filed.
Can I still file a Joint Juice claim?
No. The claim deadline for both settlements was May 18, 2026. Direct Payment Class Members identified from retailer records will still be paid automatically.
Was there a $9 million Joint Juice settlement?
We could not find a $9 million Joint Juice settlement in the official records. The current settlements total $90 million: $70,839,813.53 in the multi-state case and $19,160,186.47 in the New York case.
What was the Joint Juice lawsuit about?
The lawsuits claimed Premier Nutrition falsely advertised the joint health benefits of its Joint Juice glucosamine supplements. A New York jury found for the plaintiff in the Montera case, and Premier Nutrition appealed before settling. Premier Nutrition denies wrongdoing.
When will Joint Juice settlement payments be sent?
Both settlements have final approval, and payments are sent after any appeals are resolved and claims are reviewed. The settlement website had not posted a payment date as of late September 2026.
