Robocalls and spam texts settlement
Claim deadline passedMomentum Solar TCPA Settlement: $20 Million to $30 Million, Claims Closed, Payments Spread Over Years
Closed: the Momentum Solar calls settlement stopped taking claims July 31, 2025 and won final approval. Claimants are paid per call from a fund paid in over up to 15 years.

The Momentum Solar telemarketing settlement is closed to new claims: the deadline was July 31, 2025, and the court entered its final approval order on August 18, 2025. If you filed a valid claim, you will be paid a per-call share of a fund worth $20 million to $30 million, but the money arrives in installments over years because Momentum pays into the fund on a long schedule.
The settlement resolves two cases against Pro Custom Solar LLC, which does business as Momentum Solar, in federal court in New Jersey. Momentum denies it did anything wrong. If you missed the deadline, you are still bound by the settlement unless you opted out by July 28, 2025.

What the Momentum Solar settlement resolves
Two lawsuits, Niemczyk v. Pro Custom Solar LLC, No. 2:19-cv-07846, and Hill et al. v. Pro Custom Solar LLC, No. 2:22-cv-00247, claimed that Momentum Solar and its agents made unsolicited telemarketing calls about solar products and services in violation of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and related state telemarketing laws. The official settlement website says Momentum denies wrongdoing and vigorously opposed the claims.
The settlement is narrow. According to the plaintiffs' final approval motion, it resolves telemarketing claims under 47 U.S.C. section 227(c)(5), the part of the TCPA that covers calls to people who did not want them, such as numbers on the National Do Not Call Registry. It does not release separate claims based on autodialer calls.
Under the TCPA, a person who gets more than one telemarketing call in 12 months in violation of the do-not-call rules can recover up to $500 per call, and up to $1,500 if the violation was willful. That per-call structure is why this deal pays per call. For background on the law, see TCPA explained.
Who was eligible for the Momentum Solar settlement?
The settlement class is all persons in the United States who received two or more telemarketing calls from or on behalf of Momentum within a 365-day period from March 5, 2015 through January 2, 2025. That is a nearly ten-year class period.
- People who got an email or postcard notice were identified from Momentum's records as likely class members. The final approval motion says direct notice reached about 92% of the class.
- Current and former Momentum customers are excluded.
- Also excluded: government entities, counsel of record, Momentum and its affiliates and their employees, officers, and directors, the judges and their families and staff, and anyone who already signed a release with Momentum.
The class was large. Of about 4.1 million settlement class members, zero objected and only one asked to be excluded, according to the July 2025 final approval motion.
How much will Momentum Solar claimants get?
Claimants share the common fund on a per-call basis, for up to 50 calls each, after attorneys' fees, costs, and administration expenses come out. Class counsel could ask for up to one-third of the money paid into the fund.
How the money comes in matters more than usual here:
| Payment into fund | Amount |
|---|---|
| Within 90 days of final order | $1 million |
| Anniversaries 1 through 5 | $2M, $1.25M, $1.75M, $1.75M, $2.25M |
| From year 6 | $1.2 million a year until another $12 million |
| Liquidity event | 12% of proceeds, total capped at $30 million |
If Momentum pays $20 million into the fund within seven years of the final order, the settlement is treated as fully paid (the "QuickPay" option). Payments to claimants go out as soon as practicable each time at least $1 million builds up for the class after expenses.
Class counsel estimated the average claimant would receive about $1,266 to $1,933 in total, assuming roughly 10,000 claims. That estimate came from about 7,500 claims filed through June 2025. Claimants who listed more calls should receive more. This is far above typical TCPA class payouts, which the same motion listed at roughly $2 to $144 per claimant in other cases, but it will be paid in pieces. See how much you can get from a TCPA lawsuit.
How claims were filed and what happens now
Class members filed online at SolarTCPASettlement.com or mailed a paper claim form by July 31, 2025, listing the calls they received. The notice did not require phone bills or recordings to file. That window is closed.
If you filed:
- Keep your claim confirmation and make sure the administrator, Angeion Group, has your current mailing and email address. Updates go to Momentum Solar TCPA Settlement Administrator, 1650 Arch Street, Suite 2210, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
- Expect multiple payments. Because distributions happen each time $1 million accumulates after fees and costs, the schedule could stretch across many years.
- Cash or deposit each payment promptly. Uncashed money that cannot practically be redistributed goes to a court-approved cy pres recipient.
As of September 2026, we could not confirm from the official website whether a first distribution has been sent. The settlement website's Court Documents page is where updates are posted. For general tips, see how to check a settlement's status.

What if I missed the Momentum Solar deadline?
If you are a class member and did not file by July 31, 2025, you cannot collect from this settlement, and because you did not opt out, you released your do-not-call claims against Momentum for calls in the class period. That is how class settlements bind members.
You may still have options for calls outside the settlement. Calls after January 2, 2025 are not covered, and the release is limited to telemarketing claims, so autodialer claims were not released. If a solar company or anyone else keeps calling after you asked them to stop, or calls a number on the Do Not Call list, document each call and see our guide to the robocall lawsuit or spam text lawsuit.
